It was about this time (10:00 p.m.) exactly three years ago that I prepared myself to meet my second baby girl. Around 10:00 p.m. I felt the pressure and knew it was moments away. . . .the nurses held my legs shut and told me to wait the doctor was in route, but not here yet. I remember thinking, "Who cares? Just get her out!" The doctor eventually made it in the room, but he didn't have time to get all his scrubs on nor cover his shoes. I won't be so graphic to describe the details. . .I'll just say if I were him I probably would have thrown the shoes and clothes away.
I will never forget the first time I held her on my chest, connected, a part of me, a part of Jon. She was beautiful. Being number 5 of 6 she seems to be in a rush to grow up. Kinda like the rush she was in to get here. For just three years old, she reads people like a sage old woman. She senses if someone is upset and tenderly tries to assuage their pain with sweet hugs and tender kisses. She also is a big tease and can discover your weakness in moments and know just how to push your buttons. She has a huge smile that doesn't stop at her mouth but extends to her eyes. She definitely knows how to fill a room with her presence and work a crowd to get what she wants. Everyone in our family usually gives into her with the exception of "baby Fint". Josie has nicknamed her "tornado Savvy" and the name does apply. She doesn't play lightly. The entire house is her playground and she thinks that she is exempt from house rules like "keep upstairs toys upstairs and downstairs toys downstairs", "eat all food at the table", "stay out of mommy's lotion", "Don't get into Josie's things" and "Don't tease your little brother"--just to name a few. Along with the extra work she brings, there is an extra measure of joy. Her emotions are always in the extreme form. So love, joy and happiness are oozed in abundance. (We run and hide during her mad, sad, and angry moments).

I love and miss our little Savvy! I hope she had a great birthday. I thought about her all day yesterday! I can't believe she is 3!!!
I remember her birth like it was yesterday. We were so excited and couldn't get to the hospital fast enough. Remember how we just snuck James in as one of your kids? hahaha.
Happy Birthday Savvs. So glad we got to be there yesterday:)
She is such a sweet little girl. She's beautiful and we love her. I can't believe she is 3.

A great tribute Rachelle. And she does have a heart-stopping smile. I just want to squeeze her!
