Garth met with the oncologist yesterday and blood tests confirm that the chemotherapy is working the way they had hoped--that means no more additional shots until the next round of chemo in two weeks. I didn't realize that the stuff in the shots is more painful than the actual chemo. . .at least in my father-in-law's case!
The other good news is that Jason, his son, has been able to schedule a Pet Scan, which will help to check his entire body to see if the cancer has metastasized anywhere else. They finally found a machine in Albuquerque NM, that can accommodate Dad. He will be "flying" there tomorrow for a 7:00 a.m. appointment on Thursday. He and his son Lucas will be driving there together. If I were a betting girl, and I'm not, I would bet that Garth drives the whole way that is why I said they are "flying"! Add a few extra prayers that he doesn't get any tickets along the way :)
I can not thank everyone enough for all of the prayers, love, and support!

You don't know me, but my daughter, Kira Prince told me about your blog and raising money for Garth...this is something silly, but we have a "radar detector" that we take when we travel to avoid "policeman and radar"...I would love to lend it to you so he can make the trip without having to "slow down" :) It's helped us a TON! Feel free to email me and let me know if we can help out! shesheandpapa@gmail.com
We borrow one of those from my brother in law every time we take a trip and it really is a lifesaver!
Rachelle, this is such great news that the chemo is working! What a huge blessing.
Rachelle forgot to mention that Garth's son Lucas is a Police Officer who will be driving some of the way, if he can stiff arm Garth :) Lucas' badge should get them out of any ticket they may get.
