eight thousand four hundred and ninety-nine beads.

I am not a stranger to messes and spills. I have spent many years (almost 10) being a mom, but never have I had a mess that just keeps going and going. About a month ago while my husband was out and I was upstairs cleaning Savvy and Colt decided that it was craft time. They took out a bucket that according to the label contained 8,500 little tiny beads. Now they aren't really beads I just don't know the official name of them. One of you super crafty moms can comment and let me know what they are really called. They are those little round things that are hollow in the center and you arrange them in whatever shape you are making and then put wax paper over it and then melt it with the iron. . . .anyone know what I'm talking about? They dumped the whole bucket out. No big deal except that it wasn't in just one place. They were in the laundry room, the bathroom, the guest room, the kitchen, the family room and the living room. They were in every crevice, under every toy, hidden in every place imaginable. Not only that many even found their way upstairs. I have swept, vacuumed, and picked up for weeks and yet I am still finding them. I am not the problem though. The problem is my baby.

Here is the super close up version. That is not a purple cap on his sweet little tooth, but the eight thousand five hundredth little bead. You're right he didn't seem to mind it, but try prying that off of a baby's tooth when his mouth is full of teeth! No easy task. Moral of story: anything that is labeled over a thousand should not be brought into my house. . . .even if it is a birthday present and brings my older children joy and happiness. I have even found these in his diapers!

I'm still laughing about this one. Everyone needs to have a purple tooth at least once in their lifetime, right???? You never know, he just might start the next fashion trend!!! I'm jealous you have a team for the Las Vegas relay. I am going to talk to Linda about putting a team together but she might be too busy with school. I never really did any "special" training. I would do one long run a week of 10 or over and call it good. Now that I am older I don't run everyday because it is too hard on my body. So, cross-training is always a part of my pre-relay workouts. I always figure if I am in good shape then I will do fine and so far(5yrs of relays)I've been right. I'm looking at doing the red rock relay. You will not regret doing it. Good Luck!!
